ACUPUNCTURE

WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?

Acupuncture originated in China over 2,500 years ago. Much like the Nervous and Circulatory Systems, it utilizes a system of pathways that communicates with and connects the entire body. Very fine, sterile needles are gently inserted into carefully selected locations, or points, along these pathways that correspond to your individual condition. By targeting these particular points, the needle elicits a reflex that triggers a release of chemical signals and directs them to targeted areas of the body to heal through regenerating cells and tissues. Acupuncture promotes your own body’s healing abilities and self-regulating systems.

ADJUNCT THERAPEUTIC MODALITIES

WHAT IS CUPPING THERAPY?

Cupping Therapy is a modality that applies Negative Pressure to designated areas on the body. The practitioner creates a vacuum on the patient’s skin by employing a specialized technique with a glass cup. This improves circulation to stagnant tissue, promotes the free flow of blood and oxygen, and modulates the immune system. Cupping Therapy is most commonly used to relieve swelling and pain, aide in the treatment of respiratory issues or gastro-intestinal issues, and to strengthen the immune system.

Moxibustion Therapy is most commonly used to relieve pain, prevent disease, and maintain good health by strengthening the body.
